Where is the walk today?

Since Easter 2009 when the long hikoi/walk from Rakiura/Stewart Island to Wellington was completed we have moved into the "walk after the walk" phase. In many ways this is the most important leg of the journey. It is critical for the ongoing spirit of the walk for the mainland footslogging epic to transform into a local lifestyle. The challenge now is to live out the kaupapa or principles of the Walk not on State Highway One but in our local/daily lives.

So where is the walk today? If it is anywhere at all it is in how you have lived your life today in ways that respect the earth and bring about healing and justice for all living things.

Mark Gibson (Walk for the Planet Coordinator) embarked on a personal challenge since Easter 2009 around the issue of transportation. He is now wanting to widen this challenge to include others. Read his story and details of how you can get involved through the homepage.

However "where the walk is today" is also where you are and in the steps you are taking for eco-justice and healing.

Please share with us all the initiatives and changes you are involved in through the blog on this site.
